Wherwell Singers are based in the beautiful village of Wherwell in the Test Valley of Hampshire, home to thatched flint cottages and chalk streams full of trout.
Whilst we are not a church choir, we perform most of our concerts in the local church and have supported it in fundraising for renovation projects.
St. Peter and the Holy Cross Church is situated on Church Street in Wherwell village, close to the site of the old Wherwell Abbey which owned most of the land nearby, including much of Longparish. The church itself dates from the turn of the first century, founded by Queen Elfrida, who had also founded the Abbey some years earlier.
There is parking near the Church and in the village, please respect local residents’ needs. For a map showing the location of Church Street, Wherwell, postcode SP11 7JJ click here.
