A recent study proves what the Wherwell Singers have long known: singing in a group not only brings joy but yields health benefits too.
Research shows that in addition to improvements in breathing, posture and stature, regular participation in group choral activity has a positive impact in mental health.
Not to mention making friends and having fun…
Media interest in community choirs has flourished since the BBC’ first broadcast The Choir in 2006, with the latest series on Military Wives culminating in a Remembrance Day performance at The Royal Albert Hall.
Wherwell Singers always take collections for charity at their concerts, this year supporting MacMillan Cancer Support. The Military Wives’ Choir has now released their commissioned song ‘Wherever You Are’ to raise funds for charity, perhaps in time also to gain the Christmas No. 1 slot.
Health, happiness and humanity. The perfect Christmas combination.
